Questions, Answered.

Did you watch the new video clip yet?  Did you wonder what we were talking about when we referred to cherry-picking the judge’s trick?  Well, if you actually did both of those things, then you can find the answer in Ballard’s latest entry over at Times We Try.

New Video Clip.

Ballard and I spent last weekend in Lexington, KY stacking footage for the two videos that Ballard is filming for and shooting photos for an upcoming issue of theZine.  As it turns out, the guys we were there to skate with had an obligation on Saturday:  do a “demo” at a Christian skate competition and also be guest judges during a couple portions of the contest.  With nothing else to do, Ballard mic’d up Case Mahan and the new video clip is just a small glimpse into the life of being a judge at a best trick contest on a portable metal skate obstacle when you really, really don’t want to.  It’s not all glamour and glitz out there kiddos.

Today’s link featuring Louisville footage comes from etnies in the form of their Southern Comforts short film.  More importantly, close friend of theProgram Matt Sharer has a clip or two tucked in there.  Get ‘em Sharer.  Getting footy in etnies clips is on your team, for sure.

Strange Saints and Sinners Notes.

NHS Distribution’s Strange Notes video series is always pleasing to the eye.  They just released a trailer for the Saints and Sinners tour that came through Louisville, and it has loads of Louisville footage in it.  Either they used all their footage from here in the trailer, or they really got a lot of shit done.  See what the guys from Independent, Creature, Santa Cruz, Krux, Ricta, and Mob Grip were able to wrangle up and experience here in theBluegrass.

Daniel Kim - 10 DEEP.

I don’t know how well known Daniel Kim is these days, but I hope it’s something more than “very little.”  I first started taking notice of his skating a few years ago when I saw a video clip of 5boro Skateboards’ trip to Korea and Daniel was absolutely ripping.  I had seen bits and pieces before that, but it was that video clip that officially put him on my “I’m A Fan” list.  Well, if you need the same sort of epiphanic video clip, I think this one from 10 DEEP clothing company might just do it.

I guess I could call this part 3 of the Live and Uncut series of things that didn’t make it into the new issue of the zine, but the only reason this didn’t make it is because I’m not smart enough with Shockwave Flash to turn it into a page of the zine without the sequence playing at a million miles an hour.  But since the site and skate news are lacking ’round here this week, I figured that I’d go ahead and throw it up here.

Cole Wilson, backside 5050 backside 180 out.  I just noticed last week that this spot is no longer there, so this will be the last photo you see of it, unless someone out there was able to shoot something before it got taken out.

I stole this from Jordan’s photobucket account because I thought it was rad, and it’s a good clip to get your Sunday stoke up.  Now why he didn’t post it here on theP, I don’t really know.

They Are Weirdos.

Dave Ackels has just offered up episode 11 of his Absorb video series.  It’s called “They Are Weirdos.” This one’s full of heavy ripping and has a little more production value than previous episodes, including some special* effects.  It’s also got guest sightings of one Mr. Grant Taylor and even theProgram’s own shutterbug Jason Bash.

Could an Absorb/theProgram collabo be happening in the near future?  Time will tell.

Saints and Sinners Leftovers.

I haven’t seen the Saints and Sinners article in print yet, but I’m going to assume that the photo of Dane’s frontside crailtap on the edge of the fullpipe is in there because it’s not in the leftovers that Thrasher just put up.  What is in the leftovers though is Adrian Mallory kinda-sorta one downing Tony Manfre with the ollie up to frontside 5050 at FedEx.  I could be wrong though, Dane’s photo could just be lost to the abyss…which happens.

Day trips are the new black.  Get in your car and drive somewhere on a whim.  Get into as much skateboarding related activitiy as possible.  Drive home.  Wake up tired, but refreshed.

Brooks Shuping lived through his summer of Hometown Heroics only to step right back into the fray that is filming with Ballard.
