theStack.

We’ve got a new video up today that I think might just become a new feature like the “So Artsy” clips.  It’s called “theStack” and it’s all about stacking footage and making clips with the stuff that would normally hit the cutting room floor.  Dane Warner’s got the first one and as you can see, if this is his throwaway footage, he’s sitting on some bangers.  Who’s next?

Change of Mind.

When I shoot a photo that I like, it goes into one of three mental folders:  those that will go to theProgram, those that will go to the print mags, and those that will go nowhere.  However, sometimes a photo will float between those folders, changing places again and again, sometimes at a rate of several times a day.  And sometimes upon further review I realize that the photos just won’t work for what I had planned and I’m forced to change what I want to do with them.  With that being said, here a few photos that got pushed from one of the first two folders to the “nowhere” folder, although “nowhere” is actually ”this here blog post.”  I don’t fully hate these photos, but they just don’t have the staying power to remain in a mental folder that leads to proper usage.

Colton is a sick young ripper. One of those kids that never had kid style.  Yeah the trick has been done a hundred times, but he makes it look good. I haven’t seen Colton in awhile, last i heard he blew out his knee.  Hopefully he’ll be recovered and shredding again in the spring.

For those of you who missed the news the first time, theProgram has been airing exclusive video content (meaning footage you haven’t seen yet) on the Havoc Channel’s Video On Demand service for several months now.  We just got word that our latest montage will start airing January 22, so those of you with digital cable, make sure you tune in and get a small glimpse of what to expect from a skate video from theProgram will look like when it comes out sometime in the next decade or two.

If you ever get the chance to go skate a private ramp with a big crew, jump at it. You will have a good time. I definitely want to thank Jeff for having us over to skate.  Here are a few shots from this weekend.dane fs ollie in the deep

Options for skateboarding during the winter are limited in these parts.  Instead of sitting around and getting fat and whining about the weather, Ballard got in his car, drove to Lexington and skated with the homies up there, and came back with a banger of a new clip that is over there in the media player to your right.  Lemons, lemonade, Arnold Palmers, all of that.

Old, Fat, and Slow.

Jeremiah Stevens moved out to SF several months ago and I hadn’t really heard from him since.  Well, I got an email from him a couple days ago and it turns out that not only is he doing well out there, he’s also been filming with a lot of the other Louisville-to-SF transplants that are out that way and is going to put out a video with the footage.  It’s called “Old, Fat, and Slow” and the teaser looks like it’s gonna be full of goodness, despite what the title says.

Day in the Woods.

Until the snow started flying, I’d mainly been skating a backyard mini-ramp with a few dudes who couldn’t care less about trying to flip their board or jump down stairs.  It’s been fun not getting kicked out of a spot, having good conversation, and drinking brews on the deck in between runs, and I’ve made several new friends because of it.  One of those new friends,  John Zambrzycki, just sent me a video he shot on a trip to Indiana to skate the bowl known as “Homewoods.”  It looks like a blast and you better believe that you’ll be seeing coverage from it as soon as this weather decides to stop being so wintery.

I have no comprehension of how one does fakie fs half cabs down, across, or over anything. This is not a problem however for Aaron. He got this one with no problem.

The homey Graham Churella emailed us to let us know that his video Low Budget Existence is coming out soon and he has therefore put out a little promo for it.  He’s travelled all over the world on his own dime filming this thing and the results looks pretty damn good.
